Gea is an experienced educator having taught in mainstream schools, special settings, government schools and independent schools. Gea came to Newhaven in 2011 from Wesley College in Melbourne where she was Head of the Elsternwick Campus and managed a number of portfolios including sport across the college. Prior to Wesley, Gea was Vice Principal at The Knox School and so she brings a wealth of experience to Newhaven College.

Gea has won many awards including the Robert Read Staff Award for Excellence; the National Excellence in Teaching Award (Australia), the ASG Study Grant, and the highly prestigious Melbourne University National Assessment Award.

Gea believes that whilst our school retains a strong academic focus, the main aim is to assist each child to achieve their personal best, regardless of their ability. She knows that this can be achieved through the opportunities and wide range of experiences that are on offer at Newhaven College, so she is always working to find ways to provide the best possible education and future opportunities for all students.

Newhaven College has an outstanding set of achievements in its relatively young history, and Gea is proud to acknowledge that she is building upon the work of those who have preceded her, in further developing the School.
