Newhaven College provides a transition program for all enrolled Preps the year prior to their commencement in the Junior School. During the program, which takes place over three sessions, the children meet their teacher and participate in a range of activities especially designed to prepare them for school life.

Children meet their ‘buddy’, a senior primary student, who plays an important role in transition. Our Prep teacher also conducts an entry assessment session individually with each child in order to plan a curriculum that reflects the knowledge and skills of each individual.

Parents are invited to attend a comprehensive information session that equips them with information to enable a successful start to school the following year.
