Students at Year 9 level are supported by a Homeroom Teacher, the Head of Year 9 and their respective Head of House. Each of these teachers take responsibility for the wellbeing of students in their care. Mutual respect and trust is encouraged amongst teachers and students, and strong and healthy partnerships between the home and the College are nurtured to foster the best possible support for your child.
Transition programs are in place both for Year 8 students about to experience the Year 9 Centre, and for Year 10 students returning to the Senior School. Year 8 students participate in a week-long program that introduces them to the Year 9 Environmental Centre and staff. Throughout first term in Year 9, the students are involved in additional transition programs that assist them in strengthening Home Group and year level relationships, and also opens their eyes to new friendships and activity-based groups.
As the students approach Term 4 in Year 9, they again spend a week-long period familiarising themselves with the Senior Campus and the different challenges of their approaching VCE studies.
