Former lawyer, legal adviser and political speechwriter, Elena has worked in government and social policy for 20 years. After a short time in private legal practice she worked for over ten years as adviser to the Victorian Attorney-General. Elena then worked as a consultant to the Australian Human Rights Commission, with a primary focus on gender equality. Now Associate Director at the Centre for Innovative Justice at RMIT University, Elena runs a program of research directed at reform of the justice system. Elena moved to the Bass Coast area with her family in 2013 and her four children all attend Newhaven College. Elena was elected to the Board in 2018.
