Super Junior Swimmers
Thursday, 27 February 2020

Our Year 2-4 Swimming Carnival will go down as one of the hottest events of the year, partly due to the steamy weather, but also as our students were burning it up in the pool!

The day started with the freestyle events and Clarke House demonstrating that they were in it to win it. Equally competitive, McHaffie had swimmers in every race. The backstroke races saw the Sambell dragons use their fire breathing jets to their advantage while the Bass frogs dominated in their pet event, the breast stroke.

When all the points were tallied Bass House came out on top followed by Sambell, McHaffie and Clarke.

Well done to all swimmers and congratulations to the following students who set new school records:

  • Archie Smyth: U8 boys 25m Backstroke – 24.62sec and U8 Boys 25m Breaststroke – 28.18 sec
  • Fletcher Middleton: U10 Boys 25m Breaststroke – 23.75sec (the previous record stood for 18 years)
  • Aidan Smyth: U10 Boys 50m Freestyle - 40.27sec
