Our highly professional staff are the College’s most valuable resource. This is particularly the case where the quality of education provided for our students depends upon the ability of teachers to provide positive role models and engage, stimulate and inspire students in the process of learning and personal growth. Staff also play key roles in their own fields helping to ensure that the best possible educational environment is provided at Newhaven College through their work in management, administration, teacher support and property and grounds.

Positions Vacant

Teachers  -  Full-time/ Part-time

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic teachers in the following areas for the commencement of the 2023 school year:

  • Mathematics/Science (Years 7-12)
  • English/Humanities (Years 7-12)
  • Primary Classroom

Part-time or full-time, permanent and contract positions available. In addition, middle leadership roles in teaching and learning are also available for suitably credentialled candidates.

Teacher Position Description

You are passionate about education, learning, the growth and development of individual students and care about their wellbeing
Within your domains, you aim to foster an environment where creativity, academic, emotional, spiritual, physical and life skills are nurtured. You must be aligned with the College’s vision, mission and values in all you do, always being an excellent professional role model for our students. If a teacher, you will deliver the best possible education and support for each student in your care and you must hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.

All staff must: Have detailed knowledge of, and be able to adhere to the College’s policies and child safety practices, including the Child Protection Policy and Child Protection Staff Code of Conduct

  • Have detailed knowledge and understanding of the College’s obligations in respect of Ministerial Order No. 870, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, and the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences.
  • Hold a current National Police Check and a Working with Children’s Check (if applicable)
  • Adhere to all our Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines
  • Be willing to be involved in all aspects of the College’s day to day life
  • Be able to work independently, but also be able to be part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team
