Who we are

Newhaven College is the leading independent co-educational school in the Bass Coast region. We offer holistic education for students from Prep to Year 12.

What we do

We inspire young people with knowledge, empathy and curiosity to engage with their world with confidence and a sense of purpose.

Our roots run deep

We’re proud to be in the Bass Coast region. It’s not only where we’re based, it also shapes who we are.

We’re connected to local families, alumni and the wider community.

Our students play community sports. Our teachers are local too.

Our approach to Pastoral Care rests on:

  • The vertical House structure
  • Enrichment and support
  • Student Leadership
  • Chaplaincy
  • Counselling
Our Care

Protect

Our students care deeply about environmental issues. They learn about Phillip Island’s natural beauty and share their experiences with others.

We learn from the ecosystems around us and sustainable practices.

Our Commitment

Serving the Bass Coast and South Gippsland for over 40 years

On Tuesday, 5 February 1980, our school opened its doors at Boys Home Road, Newhaven with 51 Year 7 and 8 students.

We began with the ambition of offering a high quality Christian faith education for the families in this region.

We gradually expanded into a full senior school and added the Primary years.

Since 2000 we’ve offered a co-educational school with students from Prep-Year 12.

Year 9 students moved to our current site in 2014, and our whole school was united on one campus in 2018.
