Recently, we celebrated our outstanding Learning Support Aides - Dess, Katanya, Kellie, Pam, Nala, Sonia, Elyse, Danae, Alyssa, Annie, Lucinda, Marina and Amanda.
Every day they are ’shining lights’ encouraging our students and helping to create a nurturing environment where they feel safe and supported to learn and grow.
The often unseen things they do each day change and can look different in each classroom - whether it's running a small group intervention, supporting co-regulation, helping students access classroom learning, advocating for student needs, and encouraging positive social interactions for students throughout their school day!!
We appreciate you!

We would like to thank everyone for their support of our Wear it Purple fundraiser on Tuesday 1 September. Thanks to a love of baked goods, we raised $230, as well as raising awareness and support for the LGBTQIA+ young people both at Newhaven College and in the wider community. The incredibly fabulous and stylish wristbands are still available for purchase from the Middle School office. Just a gold coin donation and this visible show of support can be yours.
The money raised by Rainbow Haven this year is going towards creating a mini library of books that are appropriate for young LGBTQIA+ readers. We are very excited to be visiting the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda, Melbourne on Tuesday 8 September. We will tour the Centre, which was established to provide a central hub for exhibits, resources and organisations working to support the LGBTQIA+ community. We will also meet with the staff at the Hares and Hyenas bookshop, a store that specialises in LGBTQIA+ books. They will help us select the first few books for our Rainbow Haven Library.
Rainbow Haven is a place for all students to express their true selves, whether they are members of the LGBTQIA+ community or want to show their allyship. We meet every Gold Wednesday in the Middle School Wellbeing Room, and everyone is welcome.

Our annual Father's Day Stall was once again a highlight of the term, with students enjoying the opportunity to choose a special gift for their fathers, grandfathers and other important people in their lives.
To make the event even more exciting, every gift purchased came with a raffle ticket for the chance to win one of two fantastic prizes. We extend our sincere thanks to Engaging Engraving and Balance in Motion for generously donating a beautiful hamper and a $100 PT gift voucher. Congratulations to Year 1 student Alison Gupta, the lucky winner of this year's raffle. We hope her father enjoyed his extra special Father's Day surprise!

Noticed someone you know or care about isn’t quite themselves? Perhaps they seem out of sorts, more agitated or withdrawn? Trust your gut instinct and check in.
This year’s R U OK? Day theme, ‘Any Day’, is a reminder that meaningful conversations and checking in with each other shouldn’t be limited to one day a year.
Across the College, students and staff took part in activities encouraging us all to ask, ‘R U OK?’ Our Junior and Middle School students shared positive and encouraging messages on the MPA and Collect glass doors, while our Year 12 students and teachers were treated to a coffee van at Senior School as a small gesture of support during a busy and stressful time.
The coffee was certainly a hit!
Winter is behind us and guess what that means... It's almost MANGO SEASON 🥭
We are shipping summer's first mangoes of the season directly from the farm in Queensland straight to Newhaven College. Every tray of Mangoes sold will generate funds that go directly to the Newhaven Mountain Bike Academy, supporting trail access, gear, training and the next generation of riders from Prep right through to Year 12.
What you get:
One tray of fresh Kensington Pride mangoes (~7kg, 12–23 mangoes depending on size), perfect for the whole family, a gift, or just keeping all to yourself (no judgement!).
Cost: $35 per tray
Order deadline: Friday 23 October
Delivery: Late November / early December (just in time for summer)
If you need to grab extra trays for friends and families outside the college (and we hope you do!) please reach out to Jess Janson 0400 640 489 to place a bulk order.

As we approach the end of a busy and successful Term 3, I would like to thank our wonderful Newhaven College community for their ongoing support of the Parents & Friends Association.

Unfortunately, due to the terrible weather, our inaugural Newhaven College Community Golf Day & Sunset Fundraiser was postponed.
We are pleased to confirm the event will now be held on Saturday 10 October 2026 at Red Rocks Golf Course, commencing at 4.00pm.
This exciting adults-only event will bring together parents, carers, alumni and friends of Newhaven College for an afternoon of golf followed by an evening of food, drinks, entertainment and community connection.
The event includes a 9-hole Ambrose competition, grazing platters, pizza, refreshments, raffles and presentations. Non-golfers are also warmly invited to join the fun, with social tickets available for the evening festivities.
Places remain limited, so we encourage interested community members to book early via TryBooking.
We look forward to seeing many of you there as we launch what we hope will become a wonderful new Newhaven College tradition.

Planning is well underway for the 2026 Newhaven College Fete, which will be held on Friday 20 November from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.
The fete is one of the most anticipated events on the school calendar, bringing our community together for a memorable afternoon and evening of entertainment, food, activities and fun.
Due to a lot of interest, vendor bookings for food stalls have now closed. However, non-food stalls are still able to reserve a space via TryBooking.
We are also seeking support from businesses and community organisations through sponsorship opportunities, raffle prizes and silent auction donations. If you or your organisation would like to contribute, we would love to hear from you.
As always, volunteers play a vital role in the success of our events. Whether you can assist with planning, preparations or on-the-day activities, every contribution is greatly appreciated.
For sponsorship enquiries, prize donations, volunteer opportunities or vendor bookings, please contact the PFA at newhaven.pfa@gmail.com.
We look forward to sharing more details about what to expect at our fete next term!
