Inaugural SEISA MTB Competition

On Tuesday 14 October, five schools competed in the inaugural South East Independent Schools Association (SEISA) Mountain Bike Competition, racing around the dedicated tracks and through the grounds of Newhaven College. With over 100 competitors riding, spectators watched on in amazement as the route took riders around the Flow Trail, down through the crowded amphitheatre, straight through the Main Reception building and out the front doors! Riders made their way around the grounds of the College, leaping over intermediate elements including jumps, drops, the Whale Tail and shooting through the Tunnel, a 40ft shipping container!

Utilising the home ground advantage, Newhaven College eventually collected finishing honours, winning in all of the age group categories. A huge congratulations to Hamish Dakers-Hock and Lucy Thompson who placed first in their respective competitions; with special mentions for Ryder Evans and Evie McCabe who each placed second; and to Maxen Mills, Sophia Hardy and Fletcher Middleton who each placed third.
