Senior School Production

Our production of Midnight: The Cinderella Musical has come to a close, and it is safe to say it was a huge success. Across every performance, audiences were thoroughly entertained, and the feedback we have received from our community has been overwhelmingly positive.

The standard of performance on stage was genuinely impressive. Our cast brought real commitment and skill to every scene. After three months of rehearsals, they expertly showcased strong vocals, confident movement, and engaging storytelling from start to finish. Their dedication was evident in every performance. There were some standout individual moments, but what was most notable was the strength of the ensemble as a whole. The students worked so well together and it showed in the quality of the final result.

Behind every good production, there is also a team that rarely gets seen, and ours was excellent. The student backstage crew managed set changes with care and precision, while our front-of-house team ensured every audience member was warmly welcomed.

Thank you to all the staff, parents, and volunteers who gave their time and energy to support this production. Thank you to everyone who came along to watch - your support matters enormously to our students. We are so proud of what they achieved.

A Very Special Visit - Anthony Costanzo

The cast of Midnight recently had the rare privilege of welcoming a very special audience member to their production - Anthony Costanzo, the composer whose music brings the show to life. Anthony is a talented Australian composer and lyricist who studied piano and composition from the age of six and furthered his skills at Monash University. He has created a number of original Australian musicals and, for Midnight, collaborated with John Foreman to craft the show's music and lyrics.

On this special occasion, Anthony watched the cast perform Midnight - a show he clearly loved. Afterwards, he came onstage to meet the cast, speaking about how he had composed the music for the show and answering questions with warmth and generosity. He also shared words of wisdom about the craft of performing, drawing on his deep experience in musical theatre.

For the cast, it was a truly special experience to meet and talk with the actual composer of the musical they were performing - a privilege that few performers ever get to enjoy.

Yuri and The Penguin Classics

Congratulations to Yuri who performed as the violin soloist at the recent launch of The Penguin Classics - the newly-formed orchestra for Phillip Island and Cape Paterson.

The concert was hosted by the Woolamai Surf Life Saving Club and raised over $600 to support local surf life saving. Joining Yuri on cello was Newhaven College Head of Strings/volunteer surf lifesaver, Miss Rebecca Scully.
